Mr. el-Barudi advises and represents enterprises in the private sector and in the public sector in all areas of public commercial law. He has especially extensive expertise in the fields of building and planning law, environmental law, public procurement and privatisation law, regulatory law and subsidy law. The main focuses of his work include advising on infrastructure and structural engineering projects, especially in the framework of public-private partnerships, and providing assistance in public procurement procedures and transactions, primarily in the area of real estate. His spectrum also includes issues involving permits and procedural law, as well as contractual issues.

Studied law at the Universities of Hamburg, Bordeaux and Freiburg from 1993 until 2000. Legal traineeship (Referendariat) at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court from 2000 to 2002. Training stations at the University of Cologne, University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer and the German Embassy in Amman. Research assistant at the Center for European Integration Studies at the University of Bonn and at the Center for Applied Legal Studies at the University of Karlsruhe from 2003 to 2005. Admitted to practise law in Germany in 2004; lawyer with the Cologne office of CMS Hasche Sigle since 2005. 2008 Doctorate on Public Private Partnership and public procurement Law at the University of Regensburg.
