Matthias Schlingmann is a member of the Maritime Sector Group and of the Dispute Resolution Group of CMS Hasche Sigle. He advises clients with respect to all legal aspects of the areas shipping and national and international commerce. Mr. Schlingmann assists and represents clients in resolving disputes, be it in form of proceedings before state courts or in national and international arbitration, be it in form of alternative dispute resolution (ADR), such as mediation.
Mr. Schlingmann is an expert in interantional matters and speaks English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.

Born in 1975 in Dortmund. 1995-2000 Legal studies at the University of Passau. 2000-2001 Master's degree (LL.M./DEA) in European Law and International Economic Lawat the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva. 2001-2003 Legal traineeship at the Court of Appeal in Hamburg with practical training atthe German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer and at the Upper Finance Directorate in Hamburg (customs). Lawyer with CMS Hasche Sigle since 2004.
From January to May 2011 secondment in Rio de Janeiro at the brazilian law firm Barbosa Müssnich &Aragao (BM&A).
