Born in 1962. Herbert Wiehe studied in Bonn and Geneva. He was an academic assistant at the Institut für Handels- und Wirtschaftsrecht (Institut for Trade and Commercial Law) at Bonn University (die Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität) and took his doctorate there; his dissertation was a comparison of legal systems with regard to the regulations of international procedural law. He began his work as a lawyer in 1992 in our Cologne office and became a partner in 1997. In addition to his work in numerous corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, he has applied himself to banking law since the beginning of his career as a lawyer. In recent years, he has focussed on international project and acquisition financing. He is a member of the German Banking Law Association (Deutsche Bankrechtliche Vereinigung) and the International Bar Association, among others.
