Born in 1954 in Bonn, Germany. Legal studies in Regensburg. Doctoral thesis on the treatment of movable security interests under insolvency law in German-French commercial transactions. Completion of second state bar examination in 1981. Thereafter six month internship with the German-French Chamber of Commerce in Paris. Practice as lawyer in 1982 with the firm Cording in Deggendorf. From April 1984 to February 1988 worked for Peat-Marwick (now: KPMG) in Munich (specialising in tax advice and legal consultancy to US companies on structuring their business activities in Germany). Completion of exam for tax advisors in 1988 and promotion to head of the tax department. Began practising with Fiedler & Forster in 1989. Since 1993 Partner at Fiedler & Forster; since 1999 Partner at CMS Hasche Sigle.
