Focus

David Ziegelmayer is a lawyer admitted to practise in Germany and certified IP lawyer. His main focus is the protection of corporate reputation in the online and offline area.

David Ziegelmayer is the author of a comprehensive collection of forms for lawyers admitted to practise in Germany in competition law, published by Beck publishing company, and he is the editor-in-chief of the "CMS Blog" which he regularly posts to.



Before qualifying as a lawyer and being admitted to practice in 2005 and his legal traineeship in Cologne, David Ziegelmayer worked as a journalist. During his legal studies in Trier and Lyon (France), he completed additional training entitled "Journalism and Law" at the University of Münster. He has written journalistic reports on court proceedings and articles on commercial law and cultural topics for newspapers like Rheinischer Merkur or Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. He has been working as a lawyer since 2005, initially as a partner in a Cologne law firm specialising in copyright and competition law before switching to CMS Hasche Sigle's IP/IT team in 2008. He has been a specialist IP lawyer since 2008.
