Dr. Emmert is a specialist lawyer for employment and labour law and a partner with CMS Hasche Sigle, the law firm that has already been awarded Employment and Labour Law Firm of the Year on a number of occasions (inter alia: Juve, ACQ Acquisition Finance). Correspondingly, team members are listed in Handelsblatt/Legal Success: "Top Corporate Lawyers in Germany", "The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers", "The Guide to the World’s Leading Labour and Employment Lawyers” etc. The particular strength of the employment law team lies in their comprehensive understanding of their clients' economic environment.
Dr. Emmert and her team support and advise companies in their strategic development and implementation of practicable solutions to their employment law challenges. Dr. Emmert has intensive experience in advising German and international clients in corporate restructuring, preparation and implementation, reorganisations, (cross-border) outsourcing of business areas, tariff changes, adjustments of working conditions, the development of flexible remuneration system and working hour systems as well as redundancies. She conducts negotiations with trade unions and employee representatives on collective bargaining agreements, works agreements, reconciliations of interests and social compensation plans, transfer rules and alternative solutions concepts. Employment and labour law analysis (Due Diligence) during national and international transactions also belong to her fields of activity together with pre- and post-acquisition employment law support. Additionally, she advises clients in the course of HR work on current employment law issues as well as in the course of concluding and terminating service agreements with legal bodies.
Dr. Emmert advises companies especially of the Metal and Chemical Industry, Hotel- and Leisure Industry, the Building Sector and the Health Care Sector, including Pharmaceutical Industry, Hospitals and the Nursing Home sector. In particular, she is also familiar with specialities of canon employment law.
Dr. Emmert regularly publishes articles in specialist press and daily press and she holds lectures as well as work shops on a regular basis.

Studied law at the University of Trier, Germany. Research assistant at a professorial chair. Doctorates degree on an employment law subject (relationship between collective bargaining of the union and works council autonomy). Dr. Emmert joined CMS Hasche Sigle, Cologne, in 2000. She has been a partner since 2006. Work in London (2002 – Norton Rose) and Bahrain (2004 – Norton Rose).
Member of the International Bar Association (Employment and Industrial Relations); member of the European Employment Lawyers’ Association and of the employment law working group of the German Law Society (DAV); member of employment law committee of the Cologne Law Society.
