Dr Weng studied law at the University of Bayreuth and the Westfälische-Wilhelm University Münster. After the First State Exam and his qualification as Business Lawyer (Univ. Bayreuth) in 2005, he prepared a dissertation in the field of international corporate law about the topic "The legitimacy and realisation of cross border mergers". While preparing the dissertation and in the course of the legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf Dr Weng worked between 2005 and 2008 for the corporate law department of an international law firm in Düsseldorf and New York. Dr Weng sat the Second State Exam at the Higher Regional Court Düsseldorf in 2009 and qualified as LL.M. (King's College London) in 2010. He has been lawyer with CMS Hasche Sigle since 2010.
