Focus

Dr Andreas Heim advises clients across a wide range of industry sectors including television broadcasters, broadband cable network providers and multi-national telecommunication companies on all aspects of intellectual property, technology and media law as well as on advertising and trade practice issues. Dr. Heim's practiceinvolves both contentious and non-contentious work; he has been involved in numerous trade practice law suits, including several high profile litigation cases in relation to copyright and trade practices before the Bundesgerichtshof, the highest appellate court in Germany.

Dr Heim has substantial experience in coordinating complex multi-jurisdictional projects. He is the global key account for one of the world’s leading vendors of global enterprise communication network solutions, coordinating the provision of legal services in all of the client'scountries of operation.



Resume

Dr Heim received his doctor’s degree in 2004 for his research in relation to the legal aspects of Internet search engines and speaks at both national and international conferences on this topic. Dr. Heim is also co-author of the study “Interactive Content and Convergence” for the European Commission on the liability of Internet search engines and Electronic Programme Guides (EPG).

Prior to CMS Hasche Sigle, Dr. Heimworked with a major law firm in Sydney, Australia, on projects in the field of Australian, German and EU intellectual property and competition law. Andreas also spent a six month secondment with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Sydney advising on a wide variety of media-related issues. Dr. Heim is a member of the Law Council of Australia (International Law Section), the German Association of Industrial Property law and Copyright law (GRUR) and the German Multimedia Association (BVDW).

Dr. Andreas Heim is working with CMS Hasche Sigle since 2004 and since 2011 as partner of the firm.
