Your clerkship
Encouraging talented young people is an important part of ensuring our future success. CMS Hasche Sigle is committed to training the next generation of young lawyers. Each year some 180 individuals complete their legal or elective clerkship within our firm.
We take our role as training provider very seriously. Right from the start, we will introduce you to the practicalities of legal work. We will not assign you endless research tasks or hide you from our clients. Instead, you will have the opportunity to work on cases under the guidance of your mentors and have direct contact with clients.
After an induction phase, we will sit down together and choose a specialism that matches your wishes and abilities and that will be actively supported via suitable training.
When we have seen you at work in one of our German offices, there are opportunities to spend the next stage of your training in one of our offices abroad.
Requirements
We hire many of our clerks as lawyers at the end of their training. Your clerkship is therefore also a trial period for both you and us. Working as a clerk gives you insights into our firm and will make it easier for you to decide on your professional career pathway and to choose the right firm.
Our expectations are correspondingly high. We select our clerks on the basis that they have the potential to become one of our lawyers. Therefore we expect you to have achieved a high grade in your first state examination and for you to have very good knowledge of English.
Employment models
There are various options when it comes to working-time models for clerkships. We will arrange your hours with you so you can combine workgroup-based training with preparing for your exams.
Applying
The quickest way to apply is to use the online application form on this website. This is also
the method we prefer. You can also apply by e-mail or by sending a conventional application
supported by the customary documents.
