Qualifications & Expertise
European legislation now has a major impact on virtually every aspect of German law, with the result that the two systems are becoming increasingly intertwined.
We provide advice on all aspects of European law and represent companies in cases involving the European Commission and other EU institutions, as well as in the full range of cases brought before the Court of the First Instance and the European Court of Justice. We also advise on trade law issues, e.g. anti-dumping.
Our office in Brussels plays a key role in handling matters involving EU legislation. The CMS EU Law Office is operated jointly with our partner firms in the CMS organisation. Our Brussels lawyers have established excellent working relationships – some of them over a number of years – with the decision-makers of the European Commission, the European Parliament and other European institutions. Our legal team includes a Member of the European Parliament.
Our core activities in the area of EU law are:
- General European law (e.g. free trade)
- EU state aid law
- EU subsidy law
- EU merger control
- EU competition law
- EU product law
- EU trade law (e.g. anti-dumping)
- Legal lobbying
- WTO law
